Additional: Hull painted dark blue in 2003.

The boat came equipped with a heavy black iron 90 gal fuel tank that was installed under the V-birth in the bow.

The boat was built around the tank.

The weight of the tank filled with fuel was about 900 lbs.

This weight along with the anchors etc. causes Tayanas to float down in the bow when the tank is full.

An inherent problems with Tayanas is that these tanks eventually have to be replaced.

The tank was replaced in 2003 because a seam began leaking.

The original tank was replaced with two marine grade aluminum tanks.

The bow tank holds about 65 gal and the stern tank holds about 25 gal.

The tanks are piped together such that the stern tank drains into the bow tank.

With 90 gal of fuel aboard, the boat is now much better balanced.
