Boat Owners Notes: Follow this link to really see what this 1982 CATALINA 30 is all about, here is the link: http://youtu.be/zE4cVLg1rEs This is a fine example of the sailboats Catalina is famous for.

The Catalina 30 offers you a stable performing sailboat and a spacious interior.

With this boat you are able to stay on board for days without a problem.

There is plenty of room to prepare your food on your Tasco propane stove.

The food can be set on the table in the cabin or you could take it outside to the cockpit and eat on the removable cockpit table in the sun, under the bimini or under the Shadetree awning.

If you prefer to grill your food, use the Magma grill in the cockpit.

Enjoy music from the radio or CD player while you eat.

Cleanup can be accomplished in the double sink with pressurized hot water from the water heater.

Later you can enjoy that hot water in the enclosed shower.

When it is time to go to sleep, you can choose from the double V-berth in the bow, the double berth made by lowering the dining table, a starboard side single berth in the main cabin on the settee or the berth under the cockpit on the starboard side.

All your food, clothes and other items can be stored in the many storage nooks found under the seats, behind the cushions, the hanging locker, the galley drawers and cabinets, under the navigation table and its cabinet and the three storage lockers in the cockpit outside.

In the cockpit there is a center mounted wooden wheel on an Edson pedestal.

All the engine controls are located here along with a drink holder.

The Icom VHF radio has a remote mic mounted to the pedestal also.

The Raymarine depth finder is located beside the cabin entry hatchway.

The cockpit seats have cushions for a comfortable day of sailing.

Genoa sheets are controlled on 2 Lewmar 30 2 speed winches.

Two additional winches are located in the cockpit for spinnaker sheets.

The main sail traveler is located on the cabin roof.

Other boom controls are a Boomkicker and boom vang.

The main sail is in great condition.

It is from Mack Sails and is fully battened with 2 reef points.

It comes with a Mack Pack and jack lines.

This is a very nice feature that allows rapid stowing or putting the main into service.

The Mack pack is a sail bag with a zipper closure controlled by a line along the entire length of the bag.

To further aid easing the process, a Strong Track was added to the mast.

It reduces the friction tremendously of the sail going up the mast, even under windy conditions. (Handy when you wait too long to reef the sail) Watch the attached video to see how quickly the sail drops.

The sail was raised without aid of the winch.

Of course to get proper tension you would need to finish with the winch of which there are 2 on the mast.

The genoa is on a CDI roller furler unit.

The boat comes with a Spinnaker and pole.

When not under sail, the boat is powered by an inboard Universal 11hp diesel engine.

It has an 18 gallon fuel tank, 43 gallons of water storage in 2 separate tanks and 18 gallon capacity for the holding tank.

The 30A shore power and 12V DC system controls are at the chart table.

There are 3 overhead opening hatches and a solar powered vent for ventilation.

When you are anchored out, access back to the boat after swimming is on a fold down ladder on the stern rail.

There is also a back up second anchor.

Our family bought this boat 5 years ago to train everyone to sail so that we could enjoy a bareboat chartering experience in the BVI.

We successfully took 14 people 2 years later for a very memorable experience.

Now we want to move up to a larger boat to place on the East Coast for cruising.
